Marcus Alderson
Senior Occupational Therapist

Marcus is an inspiring Occupational Therapist, and we are so lucky to have him as part of our team at TLC. He graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from James Cook University in 2016. He has an impressive eight years’ experience supporting adults from 18 years of age within the Cairns and Hinterland region.  

Marcus commonly works within occupational rehabilitation, the NDIS, and Aged Care sectors. This has included, but not been limited to, supporting people living with mental health conditions, neurodegenerative conditions, musculoskeletal conditions, and chronic pain. Marcus’s special clinical interests include PTSD, general mental health, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and older person’s health. Additionally, he has a passion for promoting a holistic approach to returning to normal activities in all realms of occupation, service delivery to regional areas, ergonomic assessments, and graded exposure therapy.  

Marcus is excited to be a part of the team TLC to grow his clinical skills as an OT, as well as begin to expand further into his niche areas of interest and support the communities of the Cairns and Hinterland regions. He wants to be part of a team who pushes for knowledge and growth which can be applied to our clients, as well as taking a strong best-practice approach of tailoring our services to the individual and their circumstances.  

When not at work, he has several passions and interests including 3d printing, woodwork, painting, reading, watchmaking, smoking meats, welding, knifemaking, aquaponics, and vertical farming.
